Charles L. James, Pharm.D., FCSHP

Dr. James has been a clinical pharmacist at the University of California at San Diego Medical Center for the past 20 plus years. His professional practice time is divided between the Healthcare System’s Infectious Diseases and Emergency Preparedness Specialist Pharmacist activities. He is the course chief for the medical microbiology and infectious diseases therapeutics course and an associate clinical professor of pharmacy at the UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is an assistant clinical professor of pharmacy for UCSF’s School of Pharmacy, San Diego program. He is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine for UCSD’s School of Medicine within the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. His primary work site is at the UCSD HealthCare Medical Center with the Department of Pharmacy. He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and has been recognized as a California Society of Health-System Pharmacists Practitioner Fellow along with being a long-standing member of the San Diego Society of Health-System Pharmacists; who have previously recognized him as their Hospital Pharmacist of the Year. He has authored many articles and has given numerous professional presentations to a wide variety of health care providers on a broad spectrum of topics. He was raised in San Diego where he currently resides with his wife. They have two children, both in college.
