Financial Aid

As the UCSD School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is a new school, scholarship and grant funds are limited. Students are urged to apply for eligible Federal and State financial aid programs. Students should file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on or after January 1, 2007. Financial aid materials will be made available to those students who are offered admission.

Application Fee Waiver

Students applying to the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences may request a waiver of the $60 supplemental application fee. This may be done by providing our Admissions Office with a signed letter from your current institution's Financial Aid Officer or Counselor. The letter should be on institutional letterhead and should explain why the application fee waiver is being requested.

The letter should be mailed by the Financial Aid Officer or Counselor to:

University of California, San Diego
Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
ATTN: Admissions Office
9500 Gilman Drive, MC 0657
La Jolla, CA 92093-0657

Currently, there is no process for waiving the PharmCAS application fees.

National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences strongly recommends that each applicant access the National Student Loan Data System prior to applying. This system allows you to view your student aid records including student loans and grants. It is a tracking system from when the aid has been approved through when you pay off your loans. It can tell you what outstanding balances you might have, your loan status, and loan amounts you receive. Both student and parent borrowers can use it. Please check out your Federal Student Loan status by going to www.nslds.ed.gov prior to application.
