American College of Clinical Pharmacy Global Conference

The 2022 American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Global Conference was held in San Francisco in mid-October. At the conference, the following SSPPS faculty, alumni, and preceptors were recognized for their work:

Dr. Christine Cadiz (Class of 2012) presented her research projects:

Dr. Shirley Tsunoda (not pictured) and SSPPS students, Samantha Thompson and Sam Abelyan (both P4s), presented their research project “Non-invasive drug transference analysis of pharmacy staff skin via untargeted mass spectrometry.” 

Dr. Aryana Sepassi (Class of 2016) presented her research project, "Effect of Metformin Use on Vitamin B12 Deficiency Over Time: A Real-World Evidence Database Study."

  • Dr. Doug Humber and Ernest Chow (P4) presented their research project “Administration of oral P2Y12 inhibitors early (“upstream”) in the care of ACS does not impact CABG wait times.”
  • Dr. Kelly Lee and colleagues presented their research project “Evaluation of an APPE Well-being Promotion (WelPro™) Program.”
  • Dr. Nathan Painter concluded his tenure as Chair of the Endocrine and Metabolism Practice Research Network.
  • Dean Brookie Best and Dr. Linda Awdishu represented SSPPS at the Deans meeting and the Chairs meeting convened by the conference, respectively.
  • Dr. Linda Awdishu is in the second year of her term as the Nephrology Practice Research Network Representative for the Kidney Health Initiative.   
  • Dr. Harminder Sikand, volunteer faculty, presented her research projects “Impact of Social Determinant of Health on Medication Management in a Mental Health Clinic During the COVID-19 Pandemic”, "Single-Dose Ceftriaxone in Adjunct to Oral Antibiotics for the Treatment of Acute Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections in the Emergency Department”, and “Does Focused Education on the Use of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) Reduce the Incidence of Acute Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding (aUGIB) in Patients on Antithrombotic Therapy?”
  • Dr. Kim Tallian, volunteer faculty, presented her research project “Impact of Social Determinant of Health on Medication Management in a Mental Health Clinic During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
