ASP VP of Communications
This fall quarter, on November 17th, the Executive Board of ASP had the pleasure of hosting the annual Mentor-Mentee Meet and Greet in PSB. This event was organized by our Vice President of Networking, Anthony Herfi, in addition to the contributions from all of the ASP Board Members. Similar to last year, the ASP Board was grateful that the event was hosted in person this year. Prior to our Meet and Greet event, we successfully matched 76 student pharmacists to pharmacist mentors in their field of interest, and the matched number of students was the highest of all previous years.
This year, 49 student pharmacists and 20 pharmacist mentors attended the in-person event. The participants were rotated between tables and breakout rooms for Q&A sessions. The pharmacy specialties and topics included pharmacy informatics, pediatrics, industry, infectious disease, academia, acute care, administration, ambulatory care, and many more! We are very grateful to have had so many alumni, UC San Diego affiliates, and pharmacist preceptors from the community willing to take the time out of their busy schedules to mentor our students.
