Please note that this information is meant only for admitted students who received the link via PharmCAS.
This page provides a breakdown of the first few tasks in the onboarding process which you should begin right away.
If you have any questions or are unsure whether you’ve already submitted something, please contact sppsadmissions@health.ucsd.edu.
(Required) Certiphi Background Screening
Complete your Certiphi Background Screening as outlined in the link by the applicable deadline.
Please be sure to read everything on this webpage and pay special attention to the Instructions and Deadlines dropdown so you know what the task entails and when you are required to complete it.
(Optional) Explore Graduate Housing Options
If you will require graduate housing at UC San Diego, we encourage you to explore options and get in touch with the HDH team to start the process as soon as possible.
All PharmD students are guaranteed two years of graduate housing, and out-of-state students are guaranteed four years. Please note that this guarantee refers to availability, not cost - housing is not free. For in-state students who wish to be considered for four years of housing, we will share instructions for our Priority Graduate Housing Lottery Program later in the onboarding process.
If you do not currently have a UC San Diego student identification number nor email address, you can still contact the HDH team to begin applying for graduate housing. Your student identification number and email address will be generated later, but you may use your Slate Reference ID number to apply, in place of an official UC San Diego student identification number. This Slate Reference ID number is available via the portal where you accepted your admissions offer, but an admissions team member can also provide it to you if you need assistance locating it.
(Optional) Determine your Financial Aid Options
Fill out this estimate form to determine if you are eligible for a need-based scholarship.
Schedule a one-on-one virtual meeting with our Financial Aid Counselor, Laura Trax, to discuss your individual needs.
(Optional) Communicate any Disability Accommodations
After reviewing our Technical Standards policy, notify us of any anticipated Disability Accommodations you may need during your PharmD studies by emailing sppsadmissions@health.ucsd.edu.
Students who require accommodations to fully engage in the program should also contact the UC San Diego Office for Students with Disabilities to confidentially discuss their needs prior to matriculating. Additional time may be needed to implement accommodations, so we encourage early disclosure to ensure timely implementation and a smooth transition to the program.
