Dr. James Halpert has been elected President of the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET). ASPET is a 5,000 member scientific society founded in 1909, whose members conduct basic and clinical pharmacological research in academia, industry and the government. His service to ASPET and its Council will commence as President-elect in July of 2009 and continue as immediate Past President through June of 2012.
