Post-doctoral Scholar Opportunity
Interested in pharmacomicrobiomics? Interested in maternal-infant clinical pharmacology?
The University of California San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking a post-doctoral scholar to conduct investigations in pharmacomicrobiomics – specifically the intersection of drug metabolism, metabolomics and the microbiome. Projects will be centered around the relationship between breastfeeding and the effect on the infant microbiome and metabolome. The work will be performed under the co-mentorship of Shirley M. Tsunoda, Pharm.D. and Pieter C. Dorrestein, Ph.D., both Professors in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The post-doc will be working on projects involving animal and human samples and analysis techniques in untargeted metabolomics, molecular networking, and collaborating with other investigators/trainees in microbiome analyses.
Previous background in drug metabolism and computational skills a plus.
Successful candidates should have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a highly dynamic and collaborative team, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and a pioneering spirit. Salary is commensurate with the NIH salary pay scale. Inquiries and applications including a curriculum vitae, a brief statement summarizing past accomplishments and future research interests, and contact information for two references should be sent to Dr. Shirley Tsunoda at smtsunoda@health.ucsd.edu.
