Seven-Year B.S. Chemistry/Doctor of Pharmacy Program

This program is available to students who entered UC San Diego as freshman and are a declared Pharmacological Chemistry major in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.

Upon completion of the second undergraduate year at UC San Diego, and the required courses, students may apply for admission to the UC San Diego combined BS/PharmD program. Applications for admission will be accepted from July 13, 2023 to March 1, 2024. Applicants must complete a PharmCAS application no later than March 1, 2024 (see application information below). In addition, the UC San Diego Seven-Year BS/PharmD Application must be completed and submitted no later than March 1, 2024. Interviews will be conducted during the fall, winter and spring quarters 2023-2024. Decisions regarding admission will be provided to the applicants before the start of winter quarter. Students who are not admitted through this combined program are encouraged to apply through the regular process for admission to the UC San Diego PharmD program.

Admission to the Seven-Year BS/PharmD program and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) will be conditional, requiring continued strong academic performance in the third year of required undergraduate courses. The fourth year of a student's undergraduate work will overlap with the first year of pharmacy school. At the end the first year of pharmacy school the student will receive the Chemistry BS Degree. The students admitted through this program are expected to demonstrate outstanding academic performance and strong potential for leadership.
